File Card with Brush

While files are the kind of tool that have a finite life, that life can be extended by cleaning regularly during and after use. When a file's cutting teeth become clogged, the file skates over the surface of the material being worked on rather than cutting it. This abrasion dulls the file, making it stop cutting before it should. This file card has a stiff set of metal brushes that reach in between the cutting teeth on a file and remove stuck material. The opposite side has a stiff brush for cleaning up the dislodged material on the bench or for removing wood dust from files and rasps. Lutz made. 9" long of hard maple. Highly recommended.
