Thank you for making the decision to order a vintage saw or related product. We work hard to make sure that you receive the best possible service once you have placed an order. We hand pick our inventory and sharpen our saws entirely in-house to ensure quality. We hope that you will be so satisfied with your purchase you will come back again and again for your saw related needs.

Please review the steps below to insure that your order is fast and efficient.

Step 1: Place order

We've worked to make ordering at VintageSaws.com not unlike any other online vendor. The process is simple, just browse the site, and add items to your shopping cart as you go. You can get to your cart at any time by clicking the calculate button at the bottom of each page. When your order is complete, just fill out the online form with your address and phone number.

We're pretty easy going here at VintageSaws.com, but a few things we insist on when placing an order:

1) You must supply an email address that works. If you don't, you will not receive an email copy of your order and if we have questions, we won't be able to reach you. Please know that we use email almost entirely to communicate. I can count on one hand the times we've actually called a customer.

2) You must supply a working phone number. This is not for our benefit, it's for Fedex. When we ship, they require a phone number. If you don't supply one, and your address is incorrect, your package will come back to us, delaying your order. You will never hear from us via phone, and we will never share your number.

3) If you live in the Continental US, please supply a street address. Fedex can not deliver to a Post Office Box. If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, the Territories or Internationally, please provide the address which your postman delivers mail. There is more information on this below in the shipping section.

Step 2: Decide on payment method

You have three main choices when deciding how to pay here at VintageSaws.com: Check, Money Order, and Credit Card/Paypal

We do accept your good check and a money order. The main difference is that checks require a calendar week to clear, money orders are the same as cash and do not require the wait. You will be emailed instructions on where to mail the check and who to make it out to in the automated email which summarizes your order.

Finally, we use the online service PayPal to allow customers to instantly pay. Even here, you have two choices. If you select Credit Card/Paypal in the order form, you will see a screen which looks like the image below:

Simply click on the icon and you will be transported to the following screen:

Here you have two choices. If you have a Paypal account, log in using the right part of the screen and follow the prompts to complete the transaction. If you have an account, you probably already know how it works. You can also open an account, but it does take time to set it up.

If you don't have an account, click on the continue button on the left. In this case, you can enter your credit card info just like you would on any other site and Paypal will process your payment using your credit card info and transfer the funds to our account. It is identical to any other online store. Frankly, it is easier for us to use paypal to manage the secure transaction and pay their fee than it is to get a commercial credit account and deal with storing customers credit card info.

Having said that, please do not email us your credit card info. It's not secure and we can't do anything with it anyway. Use Paypal to complete your transaction. It's safe and secure!

That's all there is to it!

Order Fulfillment

Once we receive your payment, we will process and package your order. If you are ordering a saw, it will take us 2-3 days to file your saw and get it sharp. We file and test cut every saw just before shipment to be certain it meets our exacting standards. If we get backed up, or if we are away, this can take up to week. If you are ordering a saw filing kit, files, books, handles, etc, your order in general will ship the next day. You will know your order is on the way when you get an automated email from Fedex with your tracking information.

If for some reason an item you ordered is out of stock, we will work with you and advise on suitable alternatives or refund your purchase. We maintain a good supply of files and handles and they are almost always in stock. If not, we wait until your order can ship complete.

Shipping

For orders placed in the Continental United States, we ship exclusively with Fedex Ground. If you are in a hurry, we can ship two day or next day air at an increased cost to you. If you need this kind of service, please indicate it in the comments section of the order form and we will indicate the cost. As mentioned above, please provide your street address, Fedex will not deliver to a Post Office Box. Fedex shipments come standard with $100 of included insurance. We are meticulous in shipping your saw and have never had one damaged in shipment.

For orders going to Alaska, Hawaii and the Territories, we ship using USPS Priority Mail. Please provide the address that your Letter Carrier delivers your mail. Insurance is available at additional cost.

For international orders, we ship the most economical airmail rate. The Post Office no longer ships via surface, so your order will ship via two main methods: First Class International for orders less than 24" long and weighing less than 4 pounds or Priority Mail international for everything else. Please understand that international orders ship at exact cost. Once we package your order, we will be in touch about the increased cost. Further, we require payment via Credit Card or PayPal. No checks or money orders please!
