1885 era Harvey Pease 5 1/2 point rip saw rates fine- overall. Blade is 28" long and 7 3/8" high at heel. Blade is clean and bright, scattered small spots of discoloration with bold etch. Fully carved apple handle is nice with finish 95%. Handle complete with patented Tenny/Hankin handle reinforcement. You can see the patent here
Harvey Peace was an early maker which in many ways pushed the elements of design with some unique features. His company was started in 1861 and was purchased by Disston in 1890. This mid 1880s saw is extremely nice for the age and will provde the user with a lifetime of ripping pleasure. A great all around rip saw in a 28" length. Highly recommended.
