Very nice example of an early 1880 era Disston #4 Backsaw. This saw is 14" long and the blade is 3 1/4" high under the back. Apple handle has minor to moderate wear but no chips or cracks which is routine in saws that are nearly 150 years old finish 90%. This saw is cut with 10 point rip teeth.
This saw would excel at cutting tenon checks owing to the deep back and very comfortable early handle. A great saw to have at the ready for general rip tasks at the bench. As with all our first quality saws, this saw comes sharp, set and ready to cut.
