YS1 Stanley #40 Scrub Plane

A nice clean example of one of Stanley's most popular tools. Used to dress rough lumber prior to a smooth plane, this example has about 90% original japan finish, smooth bright bottom and nicely ground curved iron. Beech tote is very nice with just the slightest roughness on the very edge. These planes were used hard and put away wet, this one much nicer than usual. Sweet Heart Era Blade from 1921-1922 time frame (type 12 for those who are looking for a specific era).
